Oscar Piastri will make his European karting debut at the IAME International Final at the new International Circuit of Le Mans, France on October 15-19. The 13-year-old Victorian from the Oakleigh Go Kart Club will trade his usual FA Kart for a Kosmic chassis to compete in the X30 Junior category in a capacity field of 72 drivers.
It has been a successful first year in the junior classes for Piastri, taking 2nd at his first Australian Nationals in Junior Clubman, another 2nd at the Victorian State Titles and then following up with wins at the City of Melbourne Titles, the South Australian State Titles and the Junior Sprint Classic Champion of Champions races.
“I am really looking forward to testing my skills against the European drivers and experiencing the racing scene over there with a larger team and the amazing track. I want to thank Remo Luciani from Remo Racing for helping to put this opportunity together with IAME. Hopefully, it will lead to more racing in Europe next year,” said Piastri.
